Linux Mint 7, codename "Gloria". One of the most user-friendly distributions.

Linux Mint advantages:

• Based on Ubuntu Linux, compatible with and uses it repositories.
• Comes with a lot of desktop improvements which make it easier for the user to do common things.
• There is a strong focus on making things work out of the box (WiFi cards drivers in the file system, multimedia support, screen resolution, etc).

Available editions:

• Main - the main and the more stable edition. Uses the Gnome desktop.
• Universal - the same features as the Main Edition, but without including proprietary software, patented technologies or support for restricted formats.
• KDE - Uses the KDE desktop.

The Universal Edition comes as a liveDVD instead of a liveCD and with built-in support for Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Urdu.
