LinBoo.com is committed to distributing only free, legal, open source software. We strive to ensure that all of the software distributed by LinBoo.com is licensed under a license approved by the Open Source Initiative (OSI) , and that commercial software is not included in any Linux or BSD distribution on our website. Although there are many open source licenses (see the OSI website for a full list), most software is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The GPL is an open source license created by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) , and is used for the Linux kernel and most Linux software. BSD distributions are distributed under the BSDL, a license written by the University of California, Berkeley. The FSF/GNU page titled "Selling Free Software" should clear up any questions you have. |
