OpenEducationDisc 08.05

OpenEducationDisc, an official derivative of OpenDisc . Along with everything found on OpenDisc there's additional software specifically for students, and the entire disc has been tailored with education in mind.

OpenEducationDisc is aimed directly at students aged 10-21+ giving the necessary tools to help them complete homework/coursework assignments and succeed in school without the need for rich/generous parents/guardians to buy them the tools they need, or having to resort to piracy. A lot of product pages have been updated with more kid friendly speech, some graphics have been revamped, and new versions of several applications are included (Dia, Firefox, Pidgin, GIMP, Tux Paint, VLC and Infra Recorder).

OpenEducationDisc 08.05 is jammed full of new and updated programs and lots of corrections from the previous one.

• Internet: Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Pidgin, Nvu and RSSOwl

• Multimedia: VLC, Audacity, Jahshaka, Infra Recorder and Really Slick Screensavers
• Science and Mathematics: Celestia, Stellarium, Nasa World Wind and GraphCalc
• Utilities: GTK+, 7-zip, ClamWin, HealthMonitor, Abakt and Workrave
• Advanced Internet: Notepad2, FileZilla, HTTrack, Azureus, WinSCP and TightVNC
